Horticulture

BRIEF HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT:

 P.R.Govt, Degree College, (Autonomous) was established in 1884 by Pithapuram Maharaja, Sri. R.V.KM.SURYARAO BAHADUR MAHARAJ.

After the college opted for Autonomous system in 2001, the college has started the new course Horticulture in B.Sc & B.Voc stream with Chemistry and Botany combinations from 2018-19.

Till 2022 department of Horticulture is under the Headship of Botany and then the Department of Horticulture was established as a separate department with single faculty from 2022-2023.

VISION:

Our vision is to impart knowledge in the field of Horticulture and equip students with practical skills relevant to the food industry needs and health sector also.

MISSION:

To provide quality laboratory facilities which are on par with the industry standards.

To encourage all the students who enrol the course to take up Horticulture as their future carrier option .

To attain 100% success rate in the examinations.
