ABOUT DEPARTMENT:
Brief History Of The Department:
The Department of History was established in the year 1926, when it was upgraded as First Grade College affiliated to Andhra University, from 2013
onwards it was affiliated to Aadhikavi Nannaya University Rajahmahendravaram . The Department working with certain broad objectives, those are to train students in the sphere of History and inculcated application of Historical Knowledge in the day to day life and in the public. Since its inception the Department of History has been trained hundreds of students in History. The Students who studied in this College occupied various Top Positions at State and National levels. The Person like B.V.Pattabiram, a great writer, Psychologist and Magician was a student of this Great Department. Madduri. Annapurnayya, a great writer and Freedom, who is studying in our great College and Our Lok Saba Former Speaker "Sri G.M.C. Balayogi", is also our College Student. The Great Film Producer and Director V.B. Rajendra Prasad is also our College Student.
After getting Autonomous status in 2001, Department of History changed its course of academic activities by adopting Autonomous status roles. The Department of History is updating its syllabus by conducting Board of Studies Meeting every year in the beginning of the Academic year. In the Board of Studies through discussions have taken place to revise the curriculum to cater the needs of Stake Holders.The College Administration provided a computer and also provided LCD room to use ICT in teaching and learning process.
Now the Department of History has two Sanctioned posts catering the needs of Students 256 by importing Knowledge and making the Students as Good Citizens.
VISION
- To infuse positivism and values in students and enlighten them about the History of our Nation and the World, to enable them topossess proper perspective of the glorious past so that they couldresolve the issues of the present and future with confidence.
MISSION
- Mould the students as ideal Citizens with deep knowledge of History which professes unity in diversity of our Country.
- Prepare the Students to lead to ensure peace, harmony and prosperity for all.
- Encouraging the Students to possess an exploring and critical bent of mind to analyze and organize facts.
- Make them become familiar with the historically important places and their significance.
- Guide the Students eligible for jobs in educational institutions, Civil Services, Defense Services, Administrative Enclaves etc.
