Department of Microbiology

Pithapur Rajah’s Govt, Degree College, (Autonomous) was established in 1884 by Pithapuram Maharaja, Sri. R.V. K. M. SURYARAO BAHADUR MAHARAJ.

The department of Microbiology was running as a part of Botany department up to 2019, after which it is under the Headship of Biotechnology up to 2021. It is after 2021 October Microbiology was established as an individual department.

Vision 

Our Vision is to impart the knowledge of Microbiology such that it impacts the life style of the students besides providing them the skill, employability, entrepreneurship and also research interest.

• To provide disciplined and value-based education for the holistic development of the students.
• To provide quality laboratory facilities which are on par with the industry standards.
• To update the curriculum as per requirements of entrepreneurship and employment opportunities
• To encourage all the students who enroll the course to take up Microbiology as their future carrier option.
