ABOUT DEPARTMENT:
BRIEF HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT:
P.R.Govt, Degree College, (Autonomous) was established in 1884 by Pithapuram Maharaja, Sri. R.V.KM.SURYARAO BAHADUR MAHARAJ.
After the college opted for Autonomous system in 2001, the college has started the new course Food Science in B.Sc stream with Chemistry and Biochemistry combinations from 2013 - 2014.
Till 2022 department of Food Science is under the Headship of Chemistry and then the Department of Food Science was established as a separate department with single faculty from 2022-2023.
VISION:
Our vision is to impart knowledge in the field of Food Science and equip students with practical skills relevant to the food industry needs and health sector also.
MISSION:
To provide quality laboratory facilities which are on par with the industry standards.
To encourage all the students who enrol the course to take up Food Science as their future carrier option .
To attain 100% success rate in the examinations.
