HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT:

     The Pithapur Raja’s College is prestigious College and its centenary was celebrated in the year 1983. Even before the centenary celebrations in the year 1980 the Department of Hindi has its existence with faculty members. The Department offers Hindi as Second Language and the students even though their mother tongue is Telugu are eager to take Hindi as their Optional Subject in their UG courses . The student strength has been increasing year by year. During 1996 , the college was bifurcated and the intermediate courses were shifted to the old science college campus. In the year 2000-01 autonomy was sanctioned to our college by UGC. Smt P. Vani  and Sk Kasimbee were worked up to 2011. Present Head Dr. P.Hari Ram Prasad Working  in this college from  2014 to till date . CBCS was adopted in the year 2014. Department of Hindi is working for specific mission and goals. It makes efforts for all Development of students. Educational Institution such as modular curriculum for I, II, III semesters for second language Hindi like Functional Hindi( General Elective) and special hindi curriculum for I,II,III years in CBCS

       By the strong efforts and   iniation of Dr. P.Hari Ram Prasad Head , Department of the Hindi , The honorable Commissioner of Collegiate Education has Sanctioned M.A.( Hindi) In 2018  and also the department has been recognised as research centre in 2019 to pursue PhD(full-time/part-time ) by the Adikavi nannayya university,Rajamahendravaram.
