About Women Empowerment Committee

Vision & Mission

  • To promote the general well-being of female students and women staff, maintain a dignified and congenial campus, and enable them to explore their potential in all aspects.
  • To train women to acquire a wide range of skills and knowledge, and to develop their economic and intellectual capacities for security and prosperity.

Objectives

  • Identification of leadership and change-makers among women and girls.
  • Organising programmes that help girls become financially, mentally, and emotionally empowered to promote their growth as individuals.
  • Arranging seminars on economic, social, and legal rights, and on Government schemes for the well-being and empowerment of women.
  • Organising activities that create awareness about health, hygiene, and self-defence.
  • Conducting competitions to encourage artistic talents and creative thinking; maintaining grievance receipt and redressal.

There is no specific cell as such with the name of “Prevention of Sexual Harassment.” However, the Anti-Ragging Committee, Women Students’ Welfare Committee, and Grievance Redressal Cell are functioning in the college. Hitherto, no cases of such harassment have been reported in the college.

Efforts to Provide Legal Literacy to Women
  • The Women’s Cell enlightens students about legal rights of women.
  • It works across various aspects of women’s empowerment.
  • Awareness programmes on legal literacy are conducted for girl students, many of whom hail from surrounding villages.
