College Planning and Development Council (CPDC): 2024–25

PREAMBLE

In view of the changing scenario in the field of Collegiate Education and the consequent diversification and sophistication of courses, involvement of the local community, resources, and experts has become essential for the effective functioning and development of colleges. Hence, College Planning & Development Councils (CPDCs) were established for all Government Colleges in the State during the academic year 2000–01.

OBJECTIVES OF CPDC

• To create a suitable environment for community participation in college development.
• To establish a mechanism for mobilizing public contributions.
• To promote academic, cultural, social, and service-oriented activities for the benefit of students and the community.

MAIN FUNCTIONS OF THE CPDC

• To generate separate CPDC funds (through donations and contributions) and utilize them exclusively for achieving CPDC objectives.
• To prepare detailed development plans with annual budget allocations and execute developmental programmes.
• To support construction of buildings, development of infrastructure, procurement of equipment, and overall campus development.
• To assist the college in obtaining consultancy services for modern and vocational courses including curriculum design, training, funding, and implementation.
• To organize extension programmes for the benefit of the local community.
• To discuss and approve expenditure proposals submitted by the college.
