ICT – Computer Facilities

Computer facility extended to all faculty & students

The college maintains an up-to-date computer infrastructure to support all academic and administrative activities. A total of 274 computers are available across departments, ensuring smooth coordination of teaching–learning processes.

Facilities are accessible to both computer and non-computer students for downloading study materials and using online resources. Labs run as per the timetable with campus internet access. First-year students create email accounts and perform academic searches; final-year students use the systems for online job applications and career activities.

Faculty Use & E-Classrooms

All departments are equipped with computers and internet for faculty to prepare assignments, explore modern techniques, create PowerPoint presentations, access research materials, and update subject knowledge.

Every block is fitted with LCD projectors. E-classrooms have internet-enabled computers so faculty can access online, visual resources during lectures.

Central Computing Facility (NRC) & Usage

The Network Resource Centre (NRC) serves as the central hub. Faculty use departmental computers and printers. Students can take printouts at ₹5 per page. Timings: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

Computers & Accessories Maintenance

  1. BSNL engineers maintain the internet facility.
  2. Computer Science faculty maintain labs and departmental systems.
  3. AMC was earlier handled by an external agency; reduced fee revenue (~45%) affected continuity.
  4. With UGC’s IMF support, regular maintenance and upgrades keep systems updated and clean.

Computer-Aided Outputs & Learning

  • Integration of online lessons (e.g., YouTube) in classroom teaching

Internet Services

Campus uses BSNL Broadband (256 kbps). About 150 systems have internet connectivity. The NRC provides 30 computers and remains open during working hours.

Institutional Website & Web-Based Facilities

The college website www.prgc.ac.in is updated regularly with: reports, events, activities, vision & mission, administrative details, course offerings, fee structure, research projects, alumni association, placement cell, and more. Teacher profiles and photo gallery are updated every six months.

Scrolling news, circulars, and announcements are displayed on the site. A dedicated Alumni link enables contributions and engagement. The site is maintained periodically by the Academic Coordinator.
